Benjamin Atkinson is a director and cinematographer based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
As a member of The National Youth Film Academy in London, Benjamin is credited as cinematographer in several short films such as 'In-sight' (2020), 'The Daily Lyre' (2021), and 'Behind The Eyes' (2021). Benjamin directed his first independent short ‘The Message’ in 2021 and original musical film, ‘It Takes Two’ (2022), his feature-film directorial debut which premiered at ODEON Dunfermline in the summer of 2022 and is now available to stream on Prime Video. In March 2023, Benjamin was the 3rd Assistant Camera on the short action thriller 'Dante's Inferno'. He has assumed the position of cinematographer for short film 'Echo' in 2023, currently in the post-production phase, and eagerly looks forward to participating in several upcoming projects, among them 'Lost Love' (2024), and his next directorial endeavor, 'Memory Lane' (2024).
Apart from his narrative filmmaking, Benjamin freelances as a videographer, producing promotional videos and trailers for local businesses and events. This includes work like creating the trailer for Footlights' "Sunday At The Park With George", promoting Edinburgh Fringe Festival shows, and filming stage performances, such as Limelights' "We Will Rock You".
